British ambassador to China meets with CISDI chair

The British Ambassador to China has paid a visit to CISDI HQ in Chongqing, underlining the British government’s support for its British business arm, CISDI UK.

The ambassador, Caroline Wilson DCMG, praised the positive international impact CISDI is creating via its state-of-the-art green and intelligent manufacturing tech and the relationships CISDI UK is developing with British enterprises involved in the steel industrial chain.

“CISDI is a pace-setter in advancing steel tech and industrial development. Today’s European steel focusses on low carbon and digital pursuits. The British Government intends to learn more about CISDI’s plans to expand in the UK and Europe and support its long-term investment and growth in the UK,” she commented.

CISDI chair Mr Xuewen Xiao briefed the ambassador on the company’s internationalisation strategy and overseas marketing plan and CISDI UK’s operations and future targets. 

He commented: “CISDI has long been committed to the research and design of new processes and tech to help the Chinese government achieve its goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality.

“Its major breakthroughs in tech and products have led to CISDI partnering with customers around the world who want to transition to higher standards of green, low carbon and smart production.

“CISDI UK is playing a significant role in supporting the Group’s business in Europe and beyond. The Group will continuously expand its economic and business input in the UK while improving its corporate functions. It is a reliable tech and solutions partner for the global metals industry.”

Mr Xiao also expressed his hopes of gaining the British Government’s continued support of CISDI UK and its assistance in CISDI’s collaboration with UK enterprises.
