CISDI’s equipment research, design, manufacturing and services bring integrated, energy-conserving, green solutions to steel engineering.

Its state-of-the-art equipment and products have made CISDI a leading brand in China and earned it a strong foothold in the world’s steel market.

Core tech and intelligent equipment for the steel processes

Over 60 years of engineering experience provides the backbone for the company’s strengths in full-process research and development, manufacturing and integration.

The company combines research and design expertise with its own manufacturing capabilities and as a result, a host of internationally influential core equipment has been produced.

1) Green, intelligent stockyard

ECIA stockyard, a state-of-the-art raw material handling tech and product, creates world-leading green storage solutions for raw materials, clean production, intelligent control and online uninterrupted rebuild.

Core equipment featured: scraper reclaimer, disk feeder, innovative stacker and closed belt conveyor.

The company has the biggest share of the world market for green and intelligent stockyard solutions for steel plants with an annual output of 10 million tonnes.

Patented model B, C, D, E, M and ECIA stockyards are designed to eliminate over 90 per cent of flying dusts while doubling the storage capacity

CISDI’s patented disk feeder is now China’s most advanced product. Around 3,000 sets have been supplied to the country’s steel plants, accounting for over 90 per cent of the market share in China

2) Efficient, long-campaign large blast furnace

CISDI’s critical tech for high-efficiency, low-consumption and long-campaign large blast furnaces is a combination of theory, design, core equipment and intelligent control.

27 of the world’s blast furnaces over 4,000 cubic metres in volume have applied this critical tech. Six of those are outside China.

CISDI’s references over the last decade account for over 50 per cent of the world’s large blast furnaces.

The core equipment is the blast furnace top, model C distributor and slag granulating drum.

A number of blast furnaces fitted with CISDI’s core equipment and tech are showing world-class technical indicators - including Baowu Zhanjiang Steel, POSCO Indonesia plant and Formosa Ha Tinh Steel in Vietnam.

The BCQ no-bell top equipment

The patented blast furnace charging system, China’s leading product.

Around 400 sets of this charging system have been supplied, accounting for over 90 per cent of the Chinese market share.

3) Steelmaking

A number of research and development innovations have been applied to worldwide steelmaking plants.

Representative core equipment: CISDI-SACS basic oxygen furnace featuring a 4-point linkage suspension system and RH-SCAP vacuum melting unit.

4) Continuous casting

CISDI’s process, control model and core equipment for the common slab caster, the ultra-thick slab caster and beam blank caster are world-leading.

Core tech for the mould’s hot width adjustment, high-speed billet casting, electro-hydraulic direct-driving oscillation and the nano mould is the most advanced in China.

The core equipment – ladle turret, mould’s hydraulic oscillation unit, intelligent mould and gap-less roller gap-regulated segment - are widely applied to casting for all steel grades.

The mould’s hydraulic oscillation unit

This self-reliant product is standardised and over 70 sets have been supplied for slab caster, billet caster and bloom caster production.

The electro-hydraulic direct-driving oscillation unit

This innovative product is a world-class servo-controlled oscillator for caster’s mould.

5) Hot strip mill

CISDI has the number one market share for China’s hot strip mills.

Its developments have leapfrogged from innovative hot mill process to equipment and control.

Among over 60 hot rolling line references, the finishing mill’s reaction block and modular scale breaker are operational at TATA Steel UK’s plant.

The crank flying shears and coiler fill the gap in China’s core hot mill equipment expertise. Their processing strength exceeds 1,200MPa, a world-leading indicator.

The high-strength, skin pass mill for hot rolling lines

CISDI has fulfilled over 10 package supplies, which are producing products with a yield strength exceeding 1,000MPa. Tensile strength is over 1,200MPa.

High-rigidity, high-precision hot rolling mill

The intensified 2-hi and 4-hi hot rolling mill reaches a rigidity ranging from 650t/mm to 900t/mm.

It has been applied to TATA Steel UK plant’s 80’’ hot mill rebuild, China’s Lianyuan Steel 2,250mm hot mill rebuild and Baosteel’s Meishan Steel 1,780mm hot mill rebuild, and to Baosteel Desheng Stainless Steel’s 1,780mm hot mill, JISCO 1,700mm hot mill and Pangang Xichang Steel’s 2,050mm hot mill.

6) Tube mill

CISDI’s tube rolling tech and equipment has made remarkable headway.

Its core technologies are the mandrel mill’s precision control system, high-response hydraulic roll gap regulation, high-speed heavy-duty retaining system, seamless tube’s head and tail wall thickness control and mandrel mill’s process model.

CISDI’s innovative small-calibre tube mill is world-leading. Its application at China’s Fengbao Industry is showing major indicators.

The vertical, taper-roll piercing mill, high-precision 3-roll mandrel mill and large-tension stretch reducing mill are now the preferred tech and equipment of China’s tube enterprises.

CISDI has designed and supplied 12 tube rolling lines.

7) Long products mill

Developments in standardised core equipment for the long products mill include:

BDCD breakdown mill, NHCD short-stress path rolling mill, SRSCD high-speed wire-rod reducing and sizing mill, LHCD large-inclination laying head, high-speed bar and wire-rod modular mill and FSCD flying shears.

These developments have been achieved as a result of CISDI’s multiple technological breakthroughs – namely the TMCP process model, large-screwdown blooming, efficient and precision tandem rolling and precision reducing and sizing.

Over 2,000 sets of equipment have been supplied to long products rolling lines in China, Malaysia, India and Brazil.

The short-stress path rolling mill

CISDI’s NHCD mill includes 15 standardised products with a maximum specification of 1,000mm.

Around the world, our products are operating in over 70 organisations (amounting to around 1,500 sets). They are performing with leading results.

The UMCD universal mill

CISDI’s universal mill tech and equipment brings efficient, cost-effective solutions for building sections rolling.

Among CISDI’s latest developments are the UMCD standardised universal mill with housing and the NUHM standardised short-stress path universal mill.

The universal mill is in operation at Yongyang Special Steel’s light rail and is in process of manufacturing for its heavy rail.

CISDI is major driver of China’s steel tech exports

CISDI is a leading exporter of China’s steel tech and equipment.

The company has undertaken a number of influential international projects in Vietnam, Malaysia, Turkey, the UK, Ukraine, Australia, India, Iran and Brazil.

The master design of Formosa Ha Tinh Steel and the design and equipment supplies for its blast furnaces, reheating furnaces and stockyards have been provided by CISDI, a US $3 billion export.
