ULE stockyard upgrade – a success at Ningbo Steel

Date:2024/2/7 Source: CISDI

Phase one of an eco-friendly stockyard and auxiliary systems rebuild at Ningbo Steel in China’s Zhejiang Province has been completed.

The raw coal, flux and coke yards were previously open-air and have been enclosed.

CISDI, the EPC-based contractor for Phase one and two, has added a host of technological advancements, optimising the yards so they now require less manpower, emit reduced environmental pollutants and can be operated smartly and more safely.

The innovative yards will enable smoother, stabler production at their downstream blast furnace ironmaking. It is the highest value project in Ningbo Steel's internal investment in ultra-low emissions.

A host of state-of-the-art tech and equipment has been applied to achieve clean production and reduce energy and materials consumptions - including photovoltaic power generation, smart sensing, internet of things, Digital Yard, three-dimensional laser scan imaging and flexible selection of optimal process routes.

Phase one’s rebuilds involved multiple dust collection systems, blending and proportioning bins, coal preparation chambers, belt conveyor corridors and A301 and A502 systems, a yards automation system and their auxiliaries under CISDI’s master control.
