CISA spotlights two CISDI smart tech inventions

Date:2024/2/7 Source: CISDI

Two innovative iron and steel making solutions created by CISDI feature on a recommendation list by the China Iron and Steel Association.

The recently released 2023 list of approved ferrous metallurgical intelligent manufacturing solutions includes the CISDigital® smart steelmaking solution and the iSmartONE hot metal transport system.

Smart steelmaking via the CISDigital® industrial internet platform

Deeply integrating steel industrial big data with the melting process builds a smart melting system which achieves greater quality and efficiency. The process is supported by a procedure-based intelligent application, collaborative optimisation and lean production management.

A closed-loop, progressive optimisation paradigm operates - from data recognition to smart control, procedure collaboration and lean production management.

Typical production scenarios have been developed for applying the ‘industrial big data plus steelmaking integrated control’ tech and platform.

Multiple firsts have been created in production and operation, management and control, and business operation:

        CISDigital®-based smart steelmaking integrated control

Cross-procedure collaborative production based on time, temperature, composition and weight controls

Machine vision-based BOF mouth flame recognition

Data analysis-based critical steelmaking business improvements.

The solution has been commended for its marked effects on steelmaking automation and intelligent levels.

Its implementation at Chinese steel plants – Yongfeng, Binxin, VALIN Hengyang, Desheng Yunnan and TIANZHU is boosting, reliably and stably. Their critical performance indicators show great improvements in quality, cost and efficiency control.

The iSmartONE hot metal transport system

This solution enables the smart control of full-process hot metal transportation in any weather condition and requires no manpower.

Autonomous/unmanned locomotives and smart scheduling have been achieved by the application of artificial intelligence.

Multiple plants currently operating with the iSmartONE system report enhanced efficiency and benefits at the hot metal and the liquid steel production interfaces. They rank as benchmarks for industrial production logistics in China.

The world’s first application of the iSmartONE was at Baosteel Zhanjiang in China’s Guangdong Province. It resulted in a record reduction in incidents of hot metal temperature drop to within 100 deg.C in a single month, and achieved China’s National Clean Production grade II.

Baotou Steel in Inner Mongolia was the site of China’s first rebuild of an industrial and mining internal combustion engine to an iSmartONE locomotive. Initiating an integration of 5G communication tech with artificial intelligence, it achieved world-class standards.

ANSTEEL’s Bayuquan plant in China’s Liaoning Province is transforming to smart, digital, green and low-carbon production with strong support from its iSmartONE system, which has been modified from a Chinese-made GKD0A locomotive.

TIANZHU Steel in China’s Hebei Province has completed construction of its world-leading integrated process, full-chain smart demo via the new iSmartOne system, which bridges the intelligent manufacturing link between hot metal and liquid steel production procedures.
