CISAI Tech is transforming an electric locomotive to autonomous/unmanned at Maanshan Steel’s Nanshan Mining Co in China.

CISAI operates under CISDI Group and its iSmartLoco will enable all-weather, autonomous railway locomotives to operate unmanned across all processes - from loading to unloading. Making the Anhui Province-based mining company smarter will energise its quest for greater quality.

CISAI’s autonomous loco-carried platform, artificial intelligence-based environmental perception system, industrial logistics smart platform and autonomous driving simulation platform are being applied. It is the first time they will have been used for the mining sector.

Nanshan Mining’s ZG150-1500 chopper electric locomotive will be modified to apply the BlitzerADP autonomous loco-carried platform, PanGoLIP industrial logistics smart platform, AI-based environmental perception, integrated positioning and assistant systems, and H-VIS industrial locomotive-carried smart sensing components.

Ores can be transported with all-process tracking, autonomous driving and environmental perception in all weather conditions.

The autonomous driving simulation platform is being put in place to implement functional verification and hardware in the loop (HIL) of driving procedures by simulating the loco’s varied running status. The projected results in enhanced systematic performance and compression of the commissioning schedule are expected to pick up pace during project construction and delivery.

The automated mining locomotive services state-of-the-art production and transportation.

It will feature autonomous driving, collaborative control and security protection. Its pivotal role is to improve collaborating and interfacing efficiency among procedures and save labour and transport costs.
