An engineering division of CISDI Group is to oversee the construction of a new zinc refinery in Bolivia.

The refinery will be built in Oruro, 3,706 metres above sea level. Its 99.995%-purity metal zinc production line will process 150,000 tonnes of zinc concentrates, and produce 650,000 tonnes of zinc products, a year.

The refinery will boost Bolivia’s mining sector and its exportation of mineral products.

Chongqing CISDI Engineering Consulting Co will provide the refinery’s design review, its equipment manufacturing and construction supervision and ops management to Bolivia’s state-owned Vinto Metallurgy Co.

The company attended a whole process consulting contract signing ceremony in Oruro, at which the city’s Mayor and the country’s Mining Minister, Marcelino Quispe Lopez, were present.

CISDI recently performed whole process consulting for the first full-process complex in Bolivia - the Puerto Suarez steel plant in Mutún, which is scheduled for operation in 2024.
