CISDI’s smart stockyard turns Baosteel Meishan Steel greener

CISDI-ECIA stockyard and clean production tech sets new standard for China 

CISDI has set new standards in China’s steel sector by creating the country’s largest ECIA model E smart, green stockyard for Meishan Steel.

The plant’s integrated stockyard programme was re-engineered by CISDI and is now operational.

The rebuild at Meishan, which operates under Baosteel, took 19 months and involved 17 main projects and multi-system online modifications. 

Contracted to carry out the master plan and package supply, CISDI applied its ECIA eco-friendly, smart yard and clean production tech.

These advanced concepts and tech created a combined ECIA model E, M and B process, and integrated the existing 23 raw material and fuel yards into three, hitting regional environmental targets.

The following results have been achieved: 

•          A land area of around 350,000m² has been saved

•          Optimised internal logistics

•          Internal raw material and fuel processing costs reduced

•          Labour productivity increased by around 44 per cent

•          Annually, around 80,000 tonnes of ores will be saved from loss
