Equipment Manufacturing: Two stainless steel annealing-pickling lines are pilot-running

Two CISDI-supplied stainless steel annealing-pickling lines have passed hot-commissioning and are pilot-running in China’s Guangdong Province.

A host of CISDI’s core equipment developments have supported the highly-automatic, customised operation of both lines.

²  800,000tpy line at Guangdong Xindaxin Metal Materials Co

Xindaxin’s line mainly produces AISI 200/300/400-series stainless steel strips in a 1.8-8 mm thickness and 800-1,600 mm width specification range. Its highest processing speed is 120 metres per minute.

CISDI was responsible for the design, supply and technical assistance of the line’s mechanical, hydraulic and electric and automation systems.

CISDI’s equipment (detailed below) enables the line to adapt to variable hot-rolled strip coil conditions and run stably at high speeds:

·      four-wedge-segment suspended payoff reel

·      clamping opener

·      speed-adaptive straightener

·      carload automatic steering looper

·      automatic jaw-type four-pyramid drum coiler.

The line is operated from a centralised control room, with an all-line data collection system laying a solid foundation for smart production analysis and control and ops management.

Stable and continuous production has been achieved by CISDI’s advanced models and control expertise – vector control without encoder feedback, the annealing furnace’s combustion control model and a flexible motor assigned to tension rollers.

The line’s drive system relies on Chinese-made transformers, rather than Western imports.

²  1.20Mtpy line at Guangqing Metal Tech Co.

GQMT’s line 3 deeply processes stainless steel 200 and 300-series strips in a thickness specification range of 2 to 6mm and a width range of 600 to 1,600mm.

After ramp up, entry, process and exit speeds will achieve 240m, 120m and 240m per minute respectively.

CISDI’s core equipment applied includes:

·  four-wedge-segment suspended payoff reel

·  speed-adaptive straightener

·  carload automatic steering looper

·  automatic jaw-type four-pyramid drum coiler.

Stainless steel processing adds extra gloss to CISDI’s annealing-pickling expertise. The company’s outstanding design skills and services have also ensured high-quality production at three other high-speed, wide-specification feedstock processing lines.
