Equipment Manufacturing: Supplying green, efficient and precise wide strip mill overseas

DANA Steel Industries in the United Arab Emirates have placed an order for a 6-hi cold rolling mill with MCC-SFRE Heavy Industry Equipment Co, which operates under CISDI Group in China’s Shaanxi Province.

It’s the company’s third supply of its kind to the overseas market - orders have previously been shipped to Bangladesh and Indonesia.

The mill features SFRE’s ninth generation green, ultra-efficient and precise rolling tech, which is capable of a 1,380mm maximum roll width and has been certified as a champion product in China’s manufacturing sector.

The mill’s highlights:

The MCC-SFRE mill brings about a more profitable production of clean, smooth strips with well-controlled thickness.

Rolling capacity is higher than China’s conventional 6-hi mill and the thinnest 0.1mm strip can be produced from a 3.0mm-thick feedstock by a single process and a total screw-down ratio of 96.67 per cent is achieved.

A combined strip surface emulsion cleaning tech is applied for barring, purging and squeezing functions. It has solved the lingering problem of residual emulsion with an emulsion’ flow rate exceeding 14,000 litres per minute for high-speed rolling.

Hydraulic automatic gauge control tech achieves high-precision speed, tension and thickness control by flow rate per second.

In addition to successful applications in Bangladesh and Indonesia, the SFRE mill and tech has facilitated stable high-speed running at China’s Baosteel Huangshi Coated and Galvanized Sheet Co in Hubei Province and at New Tianjin Steel in Tianjin.
