Three new reheating furnaces, the largest of their kind in China, are now operational at Shenglong Metallurgical Co in China’s Guangxi Province.

The walking-beam furnaces are CISDI-built and each is required to achieve an average hourly output of 405 tonnes and a maximum of 500 tonnes. They feature an effective length of 62 metres.

Furnace 1 was dried-off at Shenlong’s 2,250mm hot rolling line in January 2023.

Furnace 3 went operational in October 2022 and Furnace 2 a month later.

A host of CISDI’s advanced tech and equipment, which increases reliability and economy, has been implemented. It includes:

·      A real-time optimal system for zoned air to fuel ratio

·      A digital, impulse combustion control system

·      Ultra-low NOx burners

·      A smart combustion model

·      Fume’s stage-wise heat recovery

·      Energy-saving, hydraulic potential energy recovery.

The three intelligent reheating furnaces are achieving high standards of quality and efficiency and low carbon emission. Their slab reheating quality and low energy consumption levels are leaders for China.
