A centralised control centre is now up and running at Pangang Xichang Steel and Vanadium Co. in China’s Sichuan Province.

Built by CISDI to an EPC mode, operational phase I has achieved remote, integrated control of the company’s blast furnace 1 and its upstream stockyard and sintering procedures.

Phase I has laid a solid foundation for a smooth phase II, which when completed will see 43 control rooms for the ironmaking division, and its upstream areas, streamlined into the control centre for centralised control. Electric, instrumentation and computer systems will be modified to support the centre.

As a result, all organisational boundaries in production procedures will be eradicated and procedures will become more co-ordinated.

The centre is a benchmark for the company’s advancements in intelligent manufacturing. Its integrated control and smart decision-making transforms production safety and productivity.

“We greatly appreciate CISDI’s workmanship and efficiency. It modernised our control centre within six months, delivering a successful blast furnace 1-based systematic transformation,” said a Pangang spokesperson.

“There was tremendous teamwork shown by workforces at CISDI’s information tech and engineering consulting subsidiaries.”
