CISDI is set to build a green steel plant at Zenith Nantong.

The project, which will be to an EPC mode, includes the supply of an electric arc furnace.

CISDI has been serving Greenfield Nantong since 2019. Its most recent task was the creation of three low-carbon blast furnaces which each featured CISDI-3R ironmaking expertise and went operational in 2025.

The new steelmaking plant will require a 100-tonne EAF, two 100-tonne ladle furnaces, one 6-strand billet caster (two-strand reserved), one 100-tonne vacuum degasser reserved and relevant utilities.

The EAF will feature CISDI’s unique continuous and horizontal-charging expertise, which is designed to effectively recover fume’s excess heat and reduce power and electrode consumption. It will enhance steelmaking’s environmental standards, energy efficiency and economies.
