CISDI has achieved another major technical advancement in the steel rolling sector.
Its skin pass mill for a 1,850mm-specification hot strip rolling line has now been equipped with lean production management expertise - a first for levelling equipment of this kind.
The mill, for the Great Dong Hai Corporation in China’s Fujian Province, has recently been hot commissioned. It is running smoothly and is on track to achieve an annual production capacity of 800,000 tonnes.
Final strip will feature a thickness range of 1.5 to 12.7mm and a width range of 900 to 1,700mm, with coil’s maximum tensile strength at 1,000 mega pascals.
Product steel grades will be oriented to the demands of the construction, auto, machinery and energy sectors - low-carbon, plain and quality carbon structural, low-alloy high-strength structural, automobile structural and container steels.
The mill’s installation and commissioning took just four months. CISDI’s technical assistance service expertly fine-tuned onsite parameters and rigorous inspections of the units and smoothed potential issues.

CISDI’s smart, green and energy-conserving high-strength skin pass mill processing lines are now relied on by steel plants around the world.
In China, CISDI’s SPM line dominates, with a 60 per cent share of the market and a track record of more than 30 successful designs and supplies.
Satisfied customers in China include Baowu, HBIS, Ansteel and Benxi Steel, and a SPM line is running well at Vietnam’s Formosa Ha Tinh Steel.
Featuring automatic production tech and integrated operation and maintenance, the processing line encompasses an intensified hydraulic straightener, a high-rigidity, heavy-rolling-force skin pass mill, powerful tension and coiler units.
It performs automatic strip profile control, deep-bending roll dust collection, automatic head cutting and back bending at the preparation station, strip head clamping and automatic uncoiling and threading, and strip tail’s back bending and forming,
It features electro-hydraulic integrated, energy-efficient servo control tech.
CISDI’s SPM research and development began in the 1990s and its product is now world-class, showcasing extreme strength, profile control precision and high coil shape acceptance standards.
