Multiple technological breakthroughs have been made to a ZnAlMg-plating line at Baoheng Metalwork Co in China’s Hebei Province.
CISDI Thermal and Environmental Engineering Co supplied, it is part of a 1,450mm-spec cold strip rolling project.
The line 3 has been hot tested and is playing its part in helping advance Baoheng’s green, smart and low-carbon developments.
Its main product is 6Al3Mg-plated spangle-free strips. Its optimal formation properties, corrosion resistance and its light weight make it sought-after by the new energy sector creating vehicles and photovoltaic brackets, manufacturers of high-end household appliances and building materials.
Tech and equipment highlights:
Upgraded annealing furnace: A combined open fire and radiant tube heating process and a dedicated hydrogen-rich cooler inside the furnace play an important part in improving strip’s surface quality, production efficiency and energy conservation.
More precise plating control: CISDI Thermal’s nitrogen knife can control plating thicknesses with more precision than a conventional air knife. It helps create a uniform gloss on the plating surface and enhances strip performances to world-class.
Stabler, more precise post-plating cooling and structural regulations: Smart dynamic regulations are applied to achieve stabler, more precise control of the post-plating cooling effects and the plating structures. This tech helps reduce energy consumption and save on operating costs.
